To enhance our student's high school experience, Science Hill offers a wide variety of clubs, teams, and organizations for students to become involved in.
Appalachian Service Project (ASP)

Purpose: To help eradicate substandard housing in Central Appalachia and to develop relationship between service-minded students, faculty and families while seeking significance within our community.

Army JROTC

Purpose: To encourage young people to become better citizens.

Ascend Club

Purpose: To get students outdoors and active through climbing that focuses on distance and altitude while utilizing math skills.

Asian Appreciation Club

Purpose: Educate students about Asian culture and build community and friendship within the students.

A/V and Esports Club

Purpose: To help students build confidence by preparing for real world events and improving communication while competing at top level events.

Beta Club: 9-12

Purpose: Beta club provides top SHHS students with opportunities to lead and serve in their community. The club completes service projects that benefit Science Hill High School or the larger Johnson City community. To become a member, a ninth grade student must have earned two A’s and two B’s in the core subjects in 8th grade. A 10th-12th grade student must have a GPA of 3.5 or better.

Book Club

Purpose: To promote a love of reading and provide space to discuss books in order to enhance social connections as students share ideas and perspectives.

Chess Club

Purpose: The purpose is to provide equipment and a location for students to play chess.

Coding Club

Purpose: Coding club uses programming languages to solve problems and explore computer science.

Debate Club (Public Forum Debate Club)

Purpose: To provide an opportunity for the students to engage in debate activities on a competitive level to improve their communication, analytical and problem solving skills.

Disc Golf Club
Kiki Garman
Purpose: Practice the fundamentals of disc golf, including etiquette and competition rules. It is one of the most inclusive and inexpensive sports, any student who likes being outside will find disc golf enjoyable.

Dungeons & Dragons Club

Purpose: The Dungeons and Dragons Club at SHHS gives creative students an opportunity to socialize with other students, write adventures, and tell stories collaboratively with friends.

Fashion Club

Purpose: To help and guide students interested in fashion as a career path or a hobby to enhance skills on creating and designing fashion pieces in a self-expressive way.

Student Activities Council

Purpose: The SAC is a student organization in charge of student activities planning, organizing, and implementing community service projects, school service projects, Homecoming activities, school dances, Thanksgiving Food Drive, and the Junior/Senior Prom. Additionally, SAC assists the cheer team with pep rallies and spirit events. SAC members serve as a leadership team with the principal. Students in all grades are welcome to attend meetings and help with activities.
