PSAT

Why should I take the PSAT?

PSAT/NMSQT Stands for Preliminary SAT/ National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. The test is great practice for the SAT and even ACT. This is an opportunity to take a standardized test during the school for $20! Sophomores should start thinking about taking the PSAT. This is a great opportunity to have practice taking a standardized test, it is during a school day, and it is normally only $20.00! Juniors who take the PSAT and have high scores will be put into the running for the National Merit Scholarship! When you hear about the SHHS National Merit Semifinalist or Finalists, those students achieved that by taking the PSAT their junior here. After you take the PSAT your score report will show where you performed well and which college-level AP courses match your strengths.
