Wofford Scholars Program
Attention Juniors: Are you interested in Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina? If so, the Wofford Scholars program might be for you. Qualified candidates are eligible to compete for scholarships ranging from $15,000 per year up to a full scholarship.
Ideal candidates should rank in the top 10% of their class, have a minimum score of 1300 on the PSAT/SAT or a 28 composite on the ACT. Students should demonstrate qualities of scholarship, leadership, and potential for success. Students must have an interest in attending Wofford College.
Interested students need to see their counselor for a nomination. The deadline is September 9, 2024.
Horatio Alger Scholarships
For High School Juniors (Seniors my NOT apply). The Horatio Alger foundation is looking for students who have critical financial need and are persevering through adversity, but are committed to obtaining a bachelor's degree. In other words, they are looking for Juniors who are in financial need and have GRIT.
Scholarship recipients will also gain access to invaluable support services (academic, personal wellness, and professional) setting them on a path to college and fulfilling careers.

Eligibility Requirements:
- Be enrolled full time as a high school junior in the United States of America
- Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)
- Demonstrate critical financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
- Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
- Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
- Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0; and
- Be a United States citizen

Dr. Samuel Hurst Scholars
High School juniors who will be exceptional First-Generation College Students, with resilience, perseverance and grit, demonstrate financial need, and have a cumulative (unweighted) high school GPA of a 3.4 or higher are eligible for this award.
Recipients will receive:
- A personalized award
- Press release to share with local news media
- A special, personalized campus-visit opportunity
- Free laptop when students arrive on-campus their first semester.
- Plus, the promise of never paying tuition at Berea College. A value of more than $190,000 over four years.

Dr. Carter G. Woodson Scholars
African American juniors who are active in their community, school, civic, and/or church organizations, demonstrate financial need, and have a cumulative (unweighted) high school GPA of 3.4 or higher are eligible for this award.
Recipients will receive:

- A special, personalized campus-visit opportunity
- Free laptop when students arrive on-campus their first semester.

CASE Program (Mercer University)
Attention rising sophomores and juniors: Mercer University is accepting applications for their Certificate of Achievement and Service Excellence (CASE) program. This program seeks to identify and recognize students who embody Mercer’s commitment to research and service. Eligible applicants must have a 3.5 GPA or higher and be nominated by a counselor. Scholars will be awarded the Certificate of Achievement and Service Excellence along with a $500 scholarship, contingent upon their acceptance and matriculation to Mercer University.
