Dual Enrollment

What is Dual Enrollment? We are glad you asked. Dual Enrollment encompasses college and high school programs, that allow high school students to enroll in college courses and earn transferable college credit. 

Types of Dual Enrollment

Academic Dual Enrollment:

CTE Dual Enrollment

  • This is a newer path of taking a class in a college setting that might give you a glimpse into what college classes like in a technical field. This would give you elective credit in the high school but could give you introductory courses into your major at the college you attend. 
  • Schools:
    • ​​​​​​​Northeast State Community College
    • TCAT (Tennessee College of Applied Technologies)​​​​​​​

The Process

  • To begin this process, you must have the following
    • ​​​​​​​Be a junior or senior
    • Have a GPA of at least 3.0
    • Scored a 19 or high on all subparts of the ACT​​​​​​
  • Schedule a meeting with your counselor to receive the paperwork that you will need to complete
