Types of Dual Enrollment
Academic Dual Enrollment:
This is the traditional path of taking an academic course at a college to earn both high school credit and college credit at the same time. Most of the time, students will choose to take a class that counts as both a high school graduation requirement and a freshman requirement in college like English or math.

CTE Dual Enrollment
What is career and technical dual enrollment? Career and technical dual enrollment is an option for secondary students to earn industry certifications, which count as credits toward a high school diploma. Career and technical dual enrollment is available for secondary students seeking a certificate or degree and industry certification through a career education program or course.

To begin this process, you must be a rising junior or senior and should contact Mr Jarnigan at jarniganj@jcschools.org or come by his office in the CTE building to begin the application process and make sure that you qualify for the program you are interested in.
