Book Club Meeting
The Science Hill Book Club will meet this Thursday, January 9, right after school in room 515. We will be discussing Stiff by Mary Roach. All students are welcome, but you must have a signed parent permission form on file. Stop by Mrs. Reaves’ office on Counselor Row if you need one. Hope to see you there!

Jazz Ensemble Information Meeting
Attention Jazz Enthusiasts. Reminder that there’s an informational meeting this afternoon from 3-3:15 in the band room for students interested in becoming a member of the Science Hill Jazz Ensemble this Spring! If you play Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Bari Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Piano, Guitar, Drums, Upright/Electric Bass, or Auxiliary percussion we would love to see you there. This semester will include several exciting performances including a trip to Carowinds to perform in the Music in the Parks Festival. Can’t wait to see you there!

FAFSA Night on January 16
Join us for Science Hill's FAFSA Night on January 16th from 3:00 to 5:00pm. Parents and students are welcome to attend. You will need your FAFSA account created at least three days before the event in order to complete the FAFSA on that date. Email hfrye@niswongerfoundation.org with any questions.
Ned McWherter Scholars Program
Attention Seniors: The Ned McWherter Scholars Program is now open. To be eligible, you must:
- Be a resident of Tennessee and a US Citizen, permanent resident, or eligible non-citizen
- Plan to attend an eligible Tennessee college or university
- Have at least a 3.75 unweighted cumulative GPA
- Have a minimum composite score of 32 on the ACT or 1430 on the SAT. Superscores cannot be used.
The award is $6000 per year, eligible to renew 3 times, for a total of 4 years. You must maintain a college GPA of 3.0 and attend full-time to remain eligible. Awards are very competitive and are based on limited funding. The application is available through the TSAC portal and the deadline to apply is March 1. See your counselor for more information.
Chemistry Olympiad
Any students interested in participating in the Chemistry Olympiad, please contact Mr. Morrell (morrellj@jcschools.org) in room 531 or scan the QR codes in the hall for more information. Registration deadline is January 17, 2025.
Repeat Announcements
ID Reminders
Students: Reminder that Ids are to be worn around your neck and visible at all times. You must be wearing this year's photo ID (dated 24-25 school year) and only be wearing your ID, no one else’s. If you need a new clear sleeve or lanyard, please go to the Main Office or the Hub.
Student Parking Passes
Students who do not have a current parking pass (dated for the 24-25 school year), please make sure to come by the Hub during lunch to pick one up! Tickets will start being handed out on Monday for cars that do not have a CURRENT pass. Parking passes are FREE!
